The taint on Takumi's magic remains and he wants it lifted. With a little help from Frost, and a lot of help from his former mentor, the three set out to put things to rights.
Takumi's been left with Fumio's demons... literally. It's up to Ice to sort it out, so he calls in an old friend, who doesn't know he's still alive.
In order to ensure the kitsune necromancer can't lie about his involvement, Ice wants to capture the bones of his daughters. One dead-worker to another, the kitsune would have to concede the advantage.
Amaterasu sends a messenger. What more does she want?
Now that the damage is done, someone has to pay.
Amaterasu, former kitsune Shogun of Okinawa, long thought deceased, arrives at the inn, to speak with Takumi. But, all does not go according to her plan.
Having proven that the messenger and the message did come from the Emperor, Nox and Frost travel to the court, with Takumi.
After the note from Ay, Nox agrees to negotiate for Takumi. But, when he goes to tell Amaterasu that Takumi won't be bowing to her blackmail, he finds some very strange truths waiting for him.
Dark is in Fumio's clutches, but his friends have a score to settle, and they'll not leave him long.
Dark thinks he's gotten the offer of a lifetime -- a rough one, for sure, but one that will give him the opportunity to change his life for the better, once it's over. Instead, he's in for a whole other kind of once-in-a-lifetime experience.
A long-running plot, featuring Takumi, Lady Amaterasu, and the Kitsune Emperor of Japan, to name a few.
